For the last six months, we have worked very intensively with the Head of the General Staff, Minister Tomczyk and the full squad at the Ministry of National Defence and the Polish Army on an extraordinary task – the largest program of universal voluntary defence training in Poland history – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Thursday.
Training will be available to all Polish citizens who want to participate. They will include young people studying in primary and secondary schools, as well as people working and companies – as both individual and group classes are planned. – They will besides include seniors who will be able to benefit from the preparation and rise their skills – added the head of the MON.
Learning to behave in a crisis situation
Kosiniak-Kamysz stressed that the "COMPLIANCE" programme combines existing training initiatives. Its pilot edition was divided into 4 thematic paths. Participants will be able to gain cognition of, among others, pre-medical first aid, endurance techniques, digital hygiene and safety foundations.
Not everyone will service in the military, not everyone will become a soldier, not everyone will take an oath, but each of us must have skills, knowledge, applicable cognition of behaviour in hard situations. – convinces the head of the MON.
Minister stressed that Poland's safety depends on a strong army, strong alliances and strength of ourselves . He pointed out that knowledge, ability to respond, designation of alarms, and cognition of shelters are vital. He added that, although they are non-military, they play a key function in building the defence of the country.
400,000 participants
The pilot program will start on 22 November. – Full readiness for the beginning of next year – said Kosiniak-Kamish. The Ministry of Defence predicts that in 2026 up to 400 000 people will be trained, while in 2025 respective 1000 participants will participate in the program.
