The authoritative presentation of the BTR-22 (formerly referred to as the BTR-82U - improved) took place during [Army 2023,](https://defence24.pl/industrial/army-2023-budget-bumerang-official-presented) where it was referred to as Bumerang's budget. However, the car itself was seen much earlier during transport on a low-lift kit around June last year. In both cases, the vehicle had a BPPU-1 tower known, for example from its predecessor in the form of BTR-82A. It seemed that this solution was due to its “cheapness” and the request to compromise in the Russian army would stay as a target. [However, shortly after the presentation of the BTR-22, information about the desire to integrate the vehicle with the Balista tower strategy appeared](https://defence24.pl/industry/Russian-btr-z-new- tower). It was previously proposed as an upgrade for this BTR-82A during the 2020/2021 Army Fair and last year's edition. What tower strategy will be utilized in the mark configuration? Time will tell.
