In Podolsk, located 45 kilometres southwest of Moscow, the unmanned Ukrainians were heard on 21 August between 4 and 5 a.m. shortly there were explosions. According to witnesses, there were between 5 and 7 of them, and they spread all 10 to 20 minutes.
– I'm certain there were explosions I didn't hear before. I woke up from the nearest me. As I realize it, erstwhile the incoming drones were shot down. It means that any flew further to Moscow – behind Podolsk, and others were knocked down before they even reached Podolsk – told 1 of the residents.
That's what happened. Shortly thereafter, the capital authorities confirmed that “in the Podolski territory of the city” anti-aircraft defence forces had tracked down 10 Ukrainian drones: the first was reportedly shot down at 3 a.m. and 2 hours later, the remaining 9 were disabled.
– It was 1 of the biggest attempts to attack Moscow with drones. – said Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobian.
Moscow felt the effects
Although the attack was prevented before it could straight endanger the Russian capital, the city inactive felt its effects. At Moscow airports, Wnukowo, Domodedowo and Żukowo had to introduce ‘temporary restrictions to guarantee flight safety’ and 9 aircraft were returned to alternate airports.
The night from 20 to 21 August was restless not only in the vicinity of Moscow. The Russian Ministry of Defence reported this morning that the overall anti-aircraft defence managed to knock down 45 hostile drones over the territory of the country. 11 were shot down over the Moscow circuit, 23 over the Brian region, six over the Bielgorod region, 3 over the Kałuski region, and 2 over the Kursk region. 1 more thing was reported by the politician of the Orlów district, as was the military's assurance that no losses and harm had occurred.
These figures were indirectly confirmed in Kiev. – present we conducted respective drone operations – said the same day in an interview with the U.S. Military Portal The War region Kyrylo Budanow, head of Ukrainian military intelligence HUR.
He revealed that a full of about half a 100 were used. He besides indicated targets: a radio-electronic reconnaissance center, an airport close Moscow and Millerowo Air Base in the Rostov Oblast. Just about the attack on this last region Russian sources were silent – did it prove effective? Budanow did not explain this either, simply stating that "the impact of raids is being assessed on a permanent basis".
“Ukrainians would not be able to do that”
In Russia, however, there is simply a search for answers to a more serious question: how is it possible that the enemy can carry out offensive actions so far across the country, and besides allows itself to attack its capital... The answer is simple – the Ukrainians themselves would not be able to do it. “The Armed Forces of Ukraine do not hit on to launch unmanned vehicles themselves. They're full controlled by Western interviews. And strategical decisions are besides made in the West – provides the politician Yuri Kot quoted by the EurAsia regular portal. This is actually an authoritative narrative, coming back like a boomerang, erstwhile the Russians request to be explained another shameful failure in the ongoing 3rd year of war. It was besides sought to explain how the Ukrainian army managed to occupy part of Russian territory.
– The operation of Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk Oblast was prepared with the participation of American, British and Polish intelligence services “The abroad Intelligence Service (SWR) of Russia announced on this occasion. And in this context, they do not even surprise the rumours spread by the Cremol media that Poles could shortly enter behind Ukrainian troops. The question is, how long will the Russians be comforted by the translations that Ukraine would not have had a chance if it was not for the powerful and insidious West supporting it? And above all, erstwhile it ceases to substance to them as regards the fact that whoever their country is fighting, it occupies this war with expanding losses.
