Russian modernized T-54 destroyed in Ukraine

The Russians have been utilizing T-54/55 household tanks to combat in Ukraine for many months, initially mainly as self-propelled or assault guns. This meant that it was not essential to retrofit them with additional elements of protection specified as the Kontakt-1 reactive armor cubes, which were so willingly utilized in bulk on all types of another tanks (and not only). Interestingly, many of the tanks had them at the time of decommissioning, specified as the T-55AMW version, but they were removed and transferred to another tanks (or sold diagonally). Over time, T-54/55s appeared, retrofitted with classical canopies serving as improvised protection against grenades dropped by drones against attacks by those equipped with simple warheads.
