Russian upgraded T-54 destroyed in Ukraine

The Russians have been utilizing T-54/55 household tanks for fighting in Ukraine for many months, initially mainly as self-propelled or assault guns. This meant that they were not required to be retrofitted with additional protective elements like reactive armor cubes Contact-1, which were so eagerly utilized in wholesale quantities on all types of another tanks (and not only). Interestingly, many of the tanks had them at the time of withdrawal from service, specified as the T-55AMW version, but they were removed and moved to another tanks (or accidentally sold). Over time, the T-54/55 appeared equipped with classical roofs serving as an improvised shield against grenade-dropped drones, and against attacks of these equipped with simple warheads.
