On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In an interview with French radio, Volodymyr Zelensky reported that 55,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in battles with the Russians since the beginning of the war (this number does not include soldiers whom Ukraine considers missing).
