Russia's ultimate Court ruled out Jabłoko's liberal organization from participating in the September parliamentary elections, taking into account the suit filed by Rodin's party.
Registered in 2001 organization Jabłoko is 1 of the oldest political groups in Russia;
Its roots go back to an electoral alliance formed in 1993.
For the last time Jabłoko exceeded the vote threshold of 5% in 1999, winning 20 seats in the Russian parliament.
In the erstwhile parliamentary elections of 2021, the organization received only 1,34% of the vote.
On Monday, justice Wiaczesław Kirilov ruled that Jabłoko had violated the law by adopting funds from persons who themselves received backing from abroad states.
In addition, the court found that the organization had committed copyright violations in its electoral material, including through unauthorised usage of photographs of public individuals and fragments of the feature film.
Jabłoko organization president Nikolai Rybakov informed journalists that the group would appeal the decision of the court within 5 days, as required by law.
