About 300 young Christians from the Roman Catholic, Greek Catholic and Orthodox Churches took part on Saturday, March 21 in a Marian pilgrimage in Caraș-Severin District, Banata, in southwestern Romania.

They brought with them 3 icons of Our Lady: from the Latin sanctuary in Ciclova Montană, from the Orthodox monastery in Călugăra and from the Greek Catholic parish in Scăiuş, worshipped by the Christians of this region.

"The procession was besides a march for life, following the shining pattern of Our Lady", explained the communication of the Faculty of Orthodox Youth of the Diocese of Caransebeș. This was the second edition of the pilgrimage of young Banat Christians. The first was held in July 2024. The way then led from the Latin sanctuary in Ciclova Montană to the Orthodox monastery in Călugăra; this year the pupa went in the other direction, reported Raimondo-Mario Rupp from the press office of the Greek Catholic eparchy (diocese) Lugoj.

On a 4 - mile [4 km] journey, pilgrims prayed and sang songs from their Christian traditions. They were accompanied by their bishops: Iosif Csaba Pál of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Timișoara, Călin Ioan Bot of the Greek Catholic Diocese of Lugoj and Lucian Mic of the Orthodox Diocese of Caransebeș.
