Romania will buy over 1000 Turkish tactical vehicles

This information means the beginning of negotiations between the Romanian side and the vehicle manufacturer, Otokar. According to the assumptions, the Romanian army wants to get 1,059 wagons in 9 varieties, most of which are to be created in the indigenous arms industry. This so involves the transfer of production capacity from Otokar to Romanian partner Romtehnica. The possible contract value was set at nearly USD 940 million. Under its power, the first 278 Cobr II will be established in Turkey, while the remaining ones already in the contracting industry. The scale of technology transfer will now depend on the result of negotiations between the parties and will most likely concern at least a fewer local companies.
