U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that after the end of the conflict with Iran, the United States will gotta "re-examine NATO's value for the US" as the Alliance is becoming a "one-way street" – the State Department present announced in a communication on platform X.

The hotel published fragments of Rubio's statements for Fox News. The minister stated on the air that it should be checked whether the North Atlantic Alliance, which served the US well, "has not now become a one-way street where America can defend Europe, but erstwhile it needs the aid of allies, its right to base and fly (airplanes) is denied."

Rubio announced that these issues would be carefully examined.

The head of American diplomacy stressed that in the past he was a staunch NATO defender.

– I saw large value in the Alliance – he recalled, adding that, in addition to the possible defence of Europe, NATO allowed the US to have bases, which "allowed for the projection of forces in various parts of the planet erstwhile national safety (United States) is at risk".

– If we have reached a point where we can no longer usage these bases to defend America's interests, NATO is simply a one-way street," Rubio said. In his opinion, the U.S. is presently holding troops in Europe to defend it, but the U.S. side is inactive denied usage of these bases during the war with Iran.

So why are we in NATO? We gotta ask ourselves this question: why (we spend) hundreds of billions of dollars if we are not allowed to usage these bases in need?

The U.S. tried to usage the Air Base in Sicily without the approval of the Italian government," Reuters said on Tuesday. According to the findings of the “Corriere della Sera”, the U.S. military wanted to land there without prior arrangements with the command of the Italian army. A fewer days earlier, Spain decided to close the airspace for U.S. military aviation active in an operation in Iran. Furthermore, as Reuters said, France did not let the transport through its airspace of American weapons intended for Israel.
