«My Father will be glorified by this, that you will bring distant abundant fruit

And you will become my disciples»

Like Father He will be glorified? That we shall bring distant abundant fruit. But we will not bring abundant fruitage by taking abundant action regardless of God’s will. If in our problem we are independent of Jesus, that is, if we do not abide in Him, and He in us, but we abide only in our will, in our imaginations and emotions, then we can only make abundant chaos that will not benefit God's Kingdom. We can only bear fruit if we are inactive in Christ and are His disciples. But for each of his disciples, Jesus makes a condition: “He who does not renounce everything cannot be my disciple.” This does not mean that we must dispose of material means of life, etc. It is necessary, however, that in a given situation we should always be free of our own will, which does not want to submit to God’s will, and this involves a test of faith. The fruit we bring then – this spiritual fruit – remains forever.

Here we see that we are inactive returning to 1 thing: without a prayer that leads to interior silence and in which we gain the strength to renounce our own will, we will not produce spiritual fruitage. Bringing fruit and being disciples of Christ is our program in this short period of time that we experience here on earth before we go to eternity. Fruits or values of eternal character are gained by what we endure here and what we are able to renounce (that is, what is not God's will).
