Although the final auditions of the Festival will take place in Wrocław on 5–10 May 2026, preparations have already started in full steam. This year's edition has the slogan: "In tribute to soldiers defending Polish borders". At the Military Centre for Civic Education, Colonel Marian Porwit (WCEO) the gathering of the Artistic Council ended, which selected the first winners in the artistic category.
The Festival of Children's Works of the Polish Army has been a key place for nearly 3 decades, where children and youth associated with clubs of military units can present their artistic achievements. The selected motto – “In tribute to soldiers defending Polish borders” – is an inspiration for young artists to reflect on hard and liable service to defender the borders of the Republic of Poland. This year's edition, which will be held for the first time in the capital of Lower Silesia, is entering a crucial phase of preparation. The festival took the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence Mr. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
Selection at the highest level
The first phase of the festival was traditionally the Plastic Competition. The WCEO office received 136 works that represented various techniques and artistic forms. Their evaluation was carried out by the Artistic Council appointed by the manager of WCEO Colonel Jerzy Banasiak, who carefully examined each submitted project.
The announcement of the winners of the artistic competition is an crucial moment. The awarded and awarded works will not only be honored during the final inauguration, but will besides make an exhibition that will accompany the festival struggles in Wrocław. The exhibition will be a real showcase of young talent that develops under the guidance of instructors from military cultural centers.
Wrocław 2026: Capital of Children's Works
The selection of Wrocław to host this year's edition of the Festival is an crucial step in the improvement of this project. The city with rich military traditions will become an arena for 250 young artists who will compete in vocal, recitative and spectacle terms. Each performance, according to the spirit of this year's slogan, will be a form of culturing the ethos of a Polish soldier and an expression of gratitude to the young generation for the defenders of our borders.
Admission to all events of the 28th Festival of Children's Works of the Polish Army in Wrocław will be free.
