A Belarusian-Kazakh gang operating in Podkarpacie was broken up

Officers of the Bieszczady Border defender Branch with the support of global services broke up an organized crime group composed of citizens of Belarus and Kazakhstan, operating in Podkarpacia. The gang was active in organizing illegal border crossings from Ukraine to Poland and then moving migrants to the West of Europe.

The detentions took place as part of an investigation conducted for respective months under the supervision of the territory Attorney's Office in Przemyśl. The group had a hierarchized structure, clearly divided roles and acted with large care. Officers have determined that its members have smuggled at least 75 foreigners, mainly from Asia and Africa, charging from each from respective to respective 1000 euros.

The group leaders recruited drivers in different parts of Poland and abroad, providing them with cars and precise operating instructions. The movements were mostly at night. Migrants were received close the Polish-Ukrainian border, frequently in hard-to-access forest areas. They were then transported inland or straight towards Germany, Austria and another Western European countries.

Eight suspects were detained during the activities, including citizens of Kazakhstan, Belarus and Poland. Six of them went into temporary custody. Investigators do not regulation out further detentions due to the fact that the case is of a developmental nature. Electronic equipment, documents, telephones and cars utilized for illegal activity were besides secured.

The Border defender emphasizes that the breakdown of this group is simply a consequence of intensive cooperation between Polish and abroad services and effective analysis of operational information. Officers announce the continuation of actions aimed at organised criminal groups dealing with illegal migration.
