"Russia has massively violated Polish airspace" - specified alarming reports appeared on the night of Tuesday for Wednesday. The drones have been reported. A fewer hours later, Donald Tusk announced, citing a study from the Operation Commander of the Armed Forces Types that the said facilities had been shot down.
"As a consequence of today's Russian Federation attack in Ukraine, unprecedented in scale of invasion of Polish airspace by drone-type objects occurred. This is an act of aggression that has created a real threat to the safety of our citizens. At the command of the Operational Commander of the RSZ, defensive procedures were immediately launched" – we read in the latest service release.
Airport closed in Poland
As a consequence of the operation, the U.S. national Aviation Administration (FAA) informed early in the morning in a short announcement about the temporary closure of 4 airports in Poland due to "unplanned military activity aimed at ensuring state security".
The speech was about the airports: Warsaw-Chopin, Modlin, Rzeszów-Jasionka and Lublin airport.
After 7:00 p.m. the situation related to their operation "updated" Marcin Hadaj spokesperson of the Polish Air Navigation Agency. He informed that only Lublin airport is "timely disabled", and the another 3 have already moved.
Earlier, the Warsaw-Chopin port reported that the airport area was open to travelers, only aircraft takeoffs were interrupted. According to the latest communication from the Ombudsman of the Navigation Agency, air operations were resumed.
