Poland as an iron ally

Miłosz Motyka informed during the briefing for Polish media that during a two-day visit to Washington, Poland's delegation held talks with representatives of the United States and partners from Central and east Europe about creating fresh energy safety architecture in Europe and strengthening transatlantic relations.

During the talks, among others, the issues of energy transformation with the usage of natural materials from the United States were addressed. Minister Miłosz Motyka pointed out that in 2015 80% of the gas imported to Poland came from Russia, while now the country is completely free and safe energetically thanks to diversified supplies and long-term modernisation of infrastructure, which allows Poland to execute the function of a gas hub for all Central and east Europe.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Energy Wojciech Wrochna pointed out that energy cooperation with the US allows for the improvement of the Polish transmission system, supporting gas supply to Ukraine and another countries, which will increase competition and reduce energy transport costs.
