

The case of Stanisław Lopatin was brought to court in November 2024. According to the court database, the conviction was issued on Wednesday 15 January. The military was accused of looting, possibly in the territory of the Kursk region. However, it is not known precisely what punishment the suspect received. In court, the suspect avoided answering questions from journalists, citing a ban on the president of the court.
Complaint to Vladimir Putin
Last fall. The people of the Kurdish region reported that Russian military men periodically commit robberies, bargain cars and kill dogs that defender their owners' homes and property. Residents besides sent a collective letter to Russia's president Vladimir Putin and the Ministry of Defence asking them to halt the looting of Russian soldiers, which began in August but did not have any effect.
On 19 August 2024, a group of Russian soldiers looted the Megaphone store's dealership. On 23 August, 3 Russian soldiers plundered the warehouse of the popular online sales platform Wildberries in Russia.
The Russian authorities first identified the information on the plunder as ‘invented’, but were subsequently forced to admit that the region ‘there are facts of looting both among the civilian population and military personnel’.
