– If there is simply a major war in Europe, Russia will be the source, not the mediate East," warns Philip Breedlove, erstwhile NATO commander-in-chief of forces in Europe, in an interview with Defence24. In his opinion, the east flank of NATO, especially the Baltic Sea region, is gaining key importance in the face of the increasing threat, in which Poland plays an increasingly crucial function in the safety strategy alongside Finland and Sweden.
