Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia announced plans to retreat from the Ottawa Convention, prohibiting the usage of anti-personnel mines. Russia reacted sharply to this decision, threatening to take retaliation. "Of course, we will take military-technical steps to defend our security," announced Russian MFA spokesperson Marija Zacharów.
