During a gathering with Hungarian abroad Minister Peter Szijjarto, Russian leader Vladimir Putin reported present that he ordered the release of 2 POWs with dual Ukrainian and Hungarian citizenship who were captured by the Russian troops on the Ukrainian front.
"They are citizens with dual Ukrainian and Hungarian citizenship. They were forced into the army. I decided to release 2 of them," Putin said during a gathering with Szijjarto in Moscow.
"You can take them with you by plane, which you have flown and which you will return to Budapest," Putin proposed.
Szijjarto explained that Tuesday, during a telephone conversation with Putin, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban raised this issue and asked to consider the release of Hungarian citizens who are being held by the Russian army.
The Hungarian minister added that many citizens of his country were mobilized in Ukraine. any have gone missing or went into Russian captivity.
