Russia and BRICS: global cooperation in the shadow of sanctions and geopolitical tensions [COMMENTARY]

Although BRICS is an crucial tool for Russian diplomacy, the current situation of the Kremlin differs importantly from that of the russian Union. As “El Mundo” points out, Russia is clearly giving way to China, which account for over 60% of BRICS’ economical production. In this arrangement, Russia is becoming increasingly dependent on the Chinese and Indian economy, which is evident especially after the start of the war in Ukraine.
