The trials will be watched by elder representatives of the Romanian Armed Forces (Forțele Armate Române), the government, local defence companies, as well as Hyundai Rotem, the tank manufacturer. The demonstration is intended to show the capabilities of equipment, the acquisition of which is being considered by the local Ministry of defence [at least since last summer] (https://defence24.pl/sily-zbrojne/rumunia-jak-polska-kupi-abramsy-oraz-czolgi-i-haubice-z-korei). The transaction could affect up to 250 vehicles. The South Korean tanks, along with 54 M1A2SEPv3 units, would bolster the Romanian armored and mechanized troops. Both types would replace the outdated vehicles of the Romanian T-55 family, which besides includes the TR-580 and TR-85 tanks.
