RIYADH- The upcoming Saudi Arabia-based carrier, Riyadh Air (RX) is set to take delivery of the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which it will use as technical spare aircraft.
The most awaited carrier has leased this aircraft and is scheduled to arrive in mid-2025.

The aircraft, adorned in the carrier’s distinctive pearl livery, will make its debut at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
The leased Dreamliner serves dual purposes: functioning as a technical spare and facilitating essential crew training programs.
While this aircraft features a premium interior configuration, it differs from the upcoming fleet’s signature cabin design, which the airline plans to unveil in the near future.

The aircraft plays a crucial role in the airline’s preparation phase, supporting the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) certification process with the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

Riyadh Air advances toward a significant fleet expansion with plans to order widebody aircraft accommodating over 300 passengers in 2025. Adam Boukadida, the airline’s Chief Financial Officer, announced this development at the Future Investment Initiative forum in Riyadh.
