The decision on whom to vote in the election from the word of office becomes more difficult, not only due to the fact that the choices have narrowed strongly. The conventional division into the left and right ceased to exist. The right hand, which has always represented the rich and influential, gradually went on to make concessions by giving a part of its privileges, yet accepting the welfare state. She besides turned to the left on non-economic issues, considering that the State that has supported her so far is in a bind with her movements. conventional left, in turn, with the disappearance of fundamental socio-economic problems, has ceased to prosecute a strict social policy, becoming a spokesperson for educated, rich elites with a broad horizon of view, alternatively than oppressed, lower social layers. After all, these masses received what they demanded - the right to influence political decisions, access to education, wellness services, and above all to goods previously reserved only for higher classes.
Political awareness of society has increased (which has been greatly contributed by the improvement of mass media) so that its views have become more average (not to say biased), so differences in the programs of other sides of the political scene, seeking support from representatives of all social strata, have besides faded. Overall, politics has become vague, courteous, restrained and conformist – even though it seems to further divide. Looking at how this softening of political morals went beyond the Western border, we can conclude that this is the natural consequence of the ripening of the democratic system, flourishing in the prosperous, highly developed societies to which we aspire. We are becoming more democratic, I would say susceptible to preferred patterns of behaviour, which inevitably brings us closer on the points of view. We are becoming socially sensitive, hoping for others. Not wanting to get distant from the rest, we follow trends and it is increasingly hard for us to accept utmost views (both voters and their representatives - politicians are no longer just actors, and voters are spectators – in times of fast flow of information, all have become participants in an interactive game in which the actions and choices of participants are influenced by quite a few factors, including an alert 24 hours a day public opinion). This is seen in small support for parties outside the broad centre that propose programmes and actions that seem besides extremist to the situation and needs. Demagogoms and ideologists are hard to cross the electoral threshold - it is hard present to light crowds that have been appeased, and seemingly there are no problems worthy of dying on barricades. If only it were true.
It is most likely a closer message that the process of transforming Poles into a modern society is stuck somewhere, it is unknown where and for how long. After all, the maturity of democracy in our country is only part of a wider process that does not happen in isolation from external events. It is possible that learning openness and modernity, but historically bruised and inactive mentally complex society, in the west seeing interference in our integrity (law, immigration, ecology), and in the east the ongoing war returns to what is permanent and results from our national experiences. independency may not be at stake, but independence, although in today's complicated planet it may mean the same thing. In times of crisis, we have been choosing conflicting, but by most an acceptable set of views, which can be described as conservative socialism, and we have already seen negative consequences. present we are again at a historical crossroads and we have different opinions about which direction to go, showing frustration and hostility to each other. Distorted, though capable of cooperation and sacrifice, associated with the nation, religion and tradition, but identifying with Western values, flung between submission to power of a strong hand and self-power. We are not relieved by the fact that further elections and the anticipation of making a change. And for that and against it it seems that they have no large choice, and this democracy is only good in theory, since we gotta choose the lesser evil again. https://eyewatcher.blogspot.com/
