The production of 155 mm series projectiles is about to begin in a fresh plant. After the trial series, the production volume will be gradually increased: 25,000 missiles are to be produced this year, and by 2027 it will increase to 350,000. Taking into account production in another plants, Rheinmetall plans to scope 1.5 million missiles by 2027.
Rheinmetall has been present in its plants in Unterlüß for a long time; the weapon maker there already has a comparatively tiny production area for artillery ammunition, as well as another areas specified as the production of the Puma Combat Infantry Car, and a kilometer-long range.
