The Kosovo Chamber of Economics (OEK) has asked the European Union to abolish the sanctions imposed on Kosovo, informs Koha.net.
In a letter sent to the EU advanced typical for abroad Affairs and safety Policy, Kaji Kallas, by the president of the House, Lulzim Rafuna, stressed that these measures hinder access to EU economical improvement instruments for Kosovo's institutions and businesses.
Brussels imposed restrictions on Kosovo in consequence to political tensions, in peculiar with respect to the establishment of local administration in municipalities with a Serbian majority in the north of the territory.
These sanctions include the suspension of a number of EU funds and the limitation of access to certain backing programmes and economical cooperation instruments. They block Kosovo's access to infrastructure, environment, energy, digitisation and another improvement initiatives.
The European Union has announced that the restrictions imposed on Kosovo will be lifted after the transferlocal authority in municipalities in the north of the Serbian number country.
However, erstwhile the process of transferring local authority to the north has been completed, EU officials have stated that the discussions on the abolition of restrictions will not be resumed until a fresh government is established.
Moreover, according to sources of coha.net, France and Italy, supported by Spain, Hungary and Slovakia, opposed the abolition of restrictions, while at least 13 another countries demanded their removal.
