Supplements or vitamins will not aid in building social resilience. Education and the acquisition of specific, sometimes very applicable skills are the means for this. Manipulation and intimidation are harder erstwhile a man is armed with knowledge. Among another things, you will read about building social resilience in the May issue of “Polish Armed Forces”.
Example one. The Russian Investigative Committee initiated proceedings against “Polish mercenaries” in the ranks of the Ukrainian army, who allegedly shot up a tiny village in the Kursk Oblast. The fire was to kill a villager. Example two. Many abroad soldiers fighting on the side of Ukraine, including almost 2,000 Poles, were killed in the Kursk Oblast in Russia. This information was widely disseminated in the Russian infosphere, in addition, the statistical illustration allegedly originally published on the German website Statista.com. This message was besides distributed in Polish on social networks, including Tomasz Szmydt, a erstwhile Polish justice who fled to Belarus in early May 2024 and asked for asylum there.
Both of these stories combine lies and manipulation. The aim of disinformation in this case is to present Poland as an aggressive NATO country that incites to war, and besides sends troops to fight against Russia. The examples cited illustrate only the exude of disinformation activities carried out by Russia, due to the fact that the scale of specified activities is huge. Suffice to say that only 2 weeks ago, the Press Office of the abroad Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation published a material entitled “Eurofascism, like 80 years ago, is simply a common enemy of Moscow and Washington.” The improvement is filled with propaganda content and misinformation. There is besides emotional blackmail and manipulation among creators.
Exactly. Are we in Poland able to separate between Facebook and truth? As a society, are we easy manipulated and confused? The answer to these questions is not as apparent as it might seem. Last time I went online, I saw a poll showing how Europeans are falling Russian disinformation. And so, for example, half the Slovaks surveyed claimed that Kiev or the West, not Russia, was liable for the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. This looked much better in the Czech Republic, where all seventh surveyed work for the outbreak of war attributed Russia. Poles were best placed on this background. 90% indicated that the aggressor was the real initiator of the war – Moscow.
More and more people in Poland talk about building social resilience. Politicians stress that we request an educated society that is resistant to the influence of abroad services. Society that distinguishes lies and fake news from fact and can defy attempts to introduce social divisions. What's all this for? A resilient society is the foundation of a strong state. It must be realised that even the most many and modern armed army will not do much without wise and resilient citizens. That is why in the May issue of “Polish Armed Forces” we take social opposition to wallpaper. We not only present the solutions adopted in Finland, but besides show what resilience is said in the European Union and NATO. We besides compose about solutions that are being worked on in Poland. And there's a lot going on. First of all, we focus on education: we teach applicable skills related to, for example, pre-medical aid, but we besides convey cognition about endurance in crisis situations. The Ministry of Defence is besides actively active in public education, including through programmes ‘Education with the military’ is “Train with the Army”. And shortly the offer of military training will grow again – we have the announcements of politicians that universal voluntary military training for Poles between 18 and 60 years of age will be launched. all citizen has a safety guide this year.
In addition, you will find a number of interesting articles and interviews in the May edition of the magazine. I urge peculiar attention materials concerning the Baltic shield, lost Ukrainian atom or highly moving past of post-war soldiers fighting in the ranks of the Polish Armed Forces in the West. besides look at the AGH-64 Apache and AW149 helicopters and the sixth generation F-47 fighter. More valuable content in the 5th May issue of “PZ”.
