China's leader Xi Jinping will pay a visit to North Korea on 8-9 June at Kim Jong Un's invitation
– informed the state media of both countries on Friday.
This is the first Chinese President's journey to Pyongyang in almost 7 years and second since Kim took over.
The travel announcement coincides with the disclosure by North Korea of a fresh uranium enrichment facility. During his visit to the Kim Jong Un factory, he announced plans to grow atomic forces “at exponential pace”. According to analysts, the discovery of this facility is to establish the atomic state position just before Xi arrived.
