Over 9,000 calls in 7 days! Over 9,000 people have already registered, including 600 between the ages of 13 and 17, 7 days after the launch of the registration for universal voluntary defence training “inReadiness”. Today peace needs strength to defend itself, not only the strength of the modern army, but besides the strength of society – its readiness, work and ability to act in emergency situations. This is how deterrence is defined. In defence of the state, all citizen has a role, whether he wears a uniform or a weapon, or supports safety through knowledge, skills and informed action in his surroundings.
The #wReady program is voluntary defence training for citizens, which strengthens the safety of the full state. This is not a conscription or compulsory military service, but the anticipation of gaining real and applicable competences – from first aid to crisis response. The aim of the programme is to build a society prepared, conscious and able to support the state in emergency situations. The readiness of citizens is 1 of the most crucial elements of deterrence – a possible opponent sees that Poland has not only modern armed forces, but besides prepared society and strong reserves, which actually increases safety and reduces the hazard of conflict.
This year's edition of #wReady training will begin on 7 March and will last until 21 November in military units throughout Poland. Registration takes place full online and takes respective twelve seconds. You can sign up with mCitizen or #wReady application, choosing the convenient date and location of the training.
In many units, enrollment for the courses “inReady” is of large interest. In part of the location, all 4 courses for the year 2026 - safety, cyberhygiene, endurance and medical - have already been completely filled (e.g. Poznań - in 161 light infantry battalion, Wrocław - in 161 light infantry battalion, or in Gliwice - in 131 light infantry battalion). In another units, the selected modules have already been filled, and the others are at advanced filling level, with the availability limited to individual locations, mainly for later autumn deadlines. specified interest confirms that the programme is simply a consequence to social needs.
The level of availability of places in each location is available at: https://www.wojsko-polskie.pl/ready/ (an interactive map at the bottom of the page).
Polish citizens from the age of 13 can participate in #wGototyw. The program includes 4 one-day trainings (up to 8 hours): safety bases, pre-medical first aid, endurance and cyberhygiene. Each associate can complete all modules within a year, acquiring applicable skills useful in emergency situations. Minors can only be reported by adult legal guardians and take part in training with them.
Project #wGotty is besides changes in armed forces reserves
The year 2026 in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland was declared a "year of reserves" and will be a period of pilot implementation of a fresh model of construction and maintenance of passenger reserves. The results of the evaluation survey among participants of the November pilot program #wGotowości show a very advanced interest in service – more than 30 percent (territorial military service) of respondents declared their willingness to take it. The fresh model assumes a change in the training, readiness and improvement of the skills of the reservists, and the pilotage will cover around 10,000 volunteers in 2026.
The strategy will be based on 3 main lines of effort: enabling volunteers without prior experience of basic training, better usage of competences and improvement paths and promotion in the reserve, as well as building leadership possible through the launch of pilot Schools of the Reserves at civilian universities. The fresh forms of reserve will be permanently assigned to military units, and reservists will receive individual equipment and benefits for maintaining combat readiness, subject to regular training and a affirmative mobilization check.
These activities form part of the Polish Armed Forces improvement Programme for the period 2026–2039 and the Army 500 project, which assumes to scope a full of 500 1000 soldiers, including over 200 1000 in various forms of reserve. The fresh model besides provides for the introduction of a advanced and constant readiness reserve, the extension of reserve holders' access to the military training and courses system, and the creation of a coherent professional improvement system, including the three-year Schools of the Reserve Podchorzech, preparing future reserve officers.
