Reformation of the Church is essential and schism is not excluded

Papal power is limited. Theoretically, the Pope is an absolute monarch, “Deputy of Christ”. In practice, it has to face restrictions in the institution of over a billion members, in the Monarchy, in the curia and in local delegations. On the another hand, the challenges facing the Church are so serious that no of the roads that the fresh Pope can follow are either clearly identified or clearly lit. So it's more like a combat recognition.
