Swiatlana Cichanouska and Siarhi Cichanouski met with the fresh EU typical for Human Rights, Kajsa Ollongren. During the meeting, the fresh dismissals of political prisoners and the anticipation of providing support were discussed, reported by the United Transitional Office.
Cichanouska called for a comprehensive EU-level solution to legalise and support political prisoners who were deported to the European Union after being released.
The Cabinet president called on Ollongren to support the maintenance of both UN mandates concerning Belarus: a peculiar rapporteur and a group of independent experts. There was besides discussion about possible cooperation at the UN.
Cichanouska spoke about the work of the global Humanitarian Fund, the global Platform for the Collection of Evidence of government Crimes, the Belarusian Human Rights Defenders and Lithuania's initiative to bring the government to justice before the global Criminal Court.
Siarhei Cichanouski told about his experiences in prison and how he was transported from Belarus. He paid peculiar attention to political prisoners who are kept in isolation.
