Swiatlana Cichanouska congratulated Karol Nawrock on his triumph in the second circular of the presidential election in Poland.
“Congratulations to Charles Nawrock on triumph in the presidential election! May Poland always be strong, free and faithful to its values. We are counting on cooperation for a free Belarus and a safe Poland," wrote the leader of the democratic forces of Belarus in Polish in X.
The office of Swiatlana Cichanouska published its extended message on elections in Poland.
“I watched the elections in Poland with large attention and was fascinated. Our neighbors witnessed a political process, where all voice had its weight, where the expectations of each individual influenced, what was happening, where the media freely focused not only on the last day of the election between Karol Nawrocki and Rafał Trzaskowski, but besides on the full election cycle.
Such choices are what we stand for. What we consider to be the basis of democratic Belarus. Poland has shown how the electoral strategy can work in practice: diverse candidates in the first round, where each category of citizens has their typical and their voice which cannot be silenced, open debates and fierce political competition. It is here that votes are counted to the last 100 percent and there is no fear of changing government, even if there are political opponents with fundamentally different views.
These elections proved to be an crucial event for Poland – people knew that their voice would not be stolen, destroyed or thrown out. Therefore, more than 70 percent of Poles took part in this process and set a evidence in the past of sovereignty. However, there is no uncertainty that this consequence will be even higher during the first democratic presidential elections in Belarus.
Best wishes for Karol Nawrocki! I am convinced that one more time we will have the same lasting and fruitful relations with the elected president of Poland. Poland has always understood us, supported us through hard times, and I am convinced that we will strengthen this partnership," Cichanouska said.
