Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti will come to Belarus. This was informed by the Ministry of abroad Affairs after gathering with the ambassador of Belarus at the Holy See Jury Ambraziewicz.
The reason for Gugerotti's visit will be the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Diocese of Pinsk, which will be held next week.
“The parties discussed the current issues of cooperation between Belarus and the Holy See in areas of Cardinal Gugerotti’s competence,” added the Ministry of abroad Affairs.
It was stated that Ambraziewicz gave the Cardinal a gift from Alaksandr Lukashenko to Pope Leon XIV on the occasion of his Jubilee, as well as the first of Lukashenko's individual letter.
Let us remind you, Claudio Gugerotti is simply a well-known Vatican diplomat. He served as an apostolic nuncio in many countries, including Belarus from 2011 to 2015. Then, in 2020 and 2023, he visited the country as a peculiar envoy of the Pope.
