Representatives of the Belarusian democratic forces will be able to participate in local elections reflection missions in the associate States of the Council of Europe. This decision was made by the Bureau of the legislature of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, informed by the faction of the Coordination Council “Comanda Latushko Movement for Freedom”.
The Bureau besides reiterated its invitation to representatives of the Belarusian Democratic forces — delegates of the Coordination Council elected in May 2024 — to attend the 50th session of Congress. Furthermore, the RC was asked to appoint 3 representatives from among the delegates who would be elected in May 2026 to attend the legislature sessions from 2026 to 2027, as well as 3 of their deputies. In this way, the mandate of the Belarusian delegation was extended for another 2 years.
The decisions were taken as a consequence of initiatives of the Belarusian delegation, presented during the session in 2025 and in the framework of permanent consultations with the Congress, including during the visit of the rapporteur for Belarus to Poland.
The Bureau's approval for the introduction of a youth delegate from the Belarusian democratic forces from 2026 was besides included among the key additional decisions.
Separately in Congress, it was informed that despite the formal termination of the Rejuvenant Politics 2026 applications, it was decided to open the recruitment of young people from Belarusian democratic forces. Selected participants will be able to participate in 2 legislature sessions in 2026. Detailed information for possible candidates will be published at a later date.
