In the next year, the training of civilian candidates for private vocational training will be conducted by 3 training centers: peculiar Forces in Krakow, Communications and Information Technology in Zegrz and Logistics in Grudziądz. A full of 160 volunteers will be accepted. Most of them, due to the fact that 90, will be trained as military drivers.
A training offer for civilian candidates who want to become private professional, the military first introduced in 2023. On the basis of the decision then issued by the Ministry of Defence, the first recruitment, to 2 training centers: Communications and Computer discipline in Zegrz and peculiar Forces in Krakow, began in the beginning of 2024. Shortly thereafter, the first candidates began training. Such a solution was intended to let the efficient and fast preparation of volunteers for professional service and to supply a supply of circumstantial specialists for the Polish Army.
Next year, for the 3rd time, more volunteers will get a chance to take part in the training. MON has just issued a decision regarding the next year's service preparing to join the professional ranks. According to the document, a full of 160 seats await civilian candidates. Most, due to the fact that as many as 95 of them will adopt the Logistics Training Centre in Grudziądz, where future professional ranks will train as military drivers: in category C (65 seats) and in category C+E (30 seats). The Kraków Centre will receive 45 people, they will all be trained in a group of ground-based peculiar activities, and 20 volunteers for private professional in the field of operation of communication systems will pass service in Zegrz.
What requirements must be met?
The offer is addressed to civilians who want to become professional soldiers. In the first place they should apply to any military recruitment centre selected voluntary essential military service provided during education at the training centre. Applicants to the centre in Zegrzu have until 26 September, and those who plan to complete training in Krakow until 10 October. For those curious in training in Grudziądz, the deadline is 30 June 2026.
The application shall be accompanied, inter alia, by a certificate of completion of the school, a certificate of non-criminality, as well as another papers proving the qualifications or skills involved. At least basic, secondary, primary vocational or primary vocational education is required. – Importantly, the military does not require a circumstantial direction of education, although it prefers certain areas of education useful in military service," explains Captain Michał Gelej, cz.o. Press spokesperson of the Central Military Recruitment Centre. According to the decision of the MON, their list, facilitating the recruitment of candidates corresponding to the needs of the Polish Armed Forces, is to be known soon.
Admission to training will be based on the results of the recruitment procedure. The Commission will examine the evaluations on the school graduation certificate and the volunteers will besides pass the physical fitness test and the interview. Those who are dreamt of serving in peculiar troops will besides be trained to check the predispositions to service in positions of this kind of armed forces.
Several months of training
Persons qualified will be appointed to a voluntary basic military service at the training centre. Unlike voluntary service performed by civilians on turnuses in military unitsThose called to the center from the very beginning will be treated as candidates for professional soldiers. However, the service agenda will be akin to the usual voluntary one. To begin with, future professional ranks will undergo 27-day basic training, and after it is completed and the military oath is taken, they will have specialist training lasting up to 11 months, depending on the training program and facility.
Those who successfully complete the training will be assigned to the peculiar Forces office (47 people), the Warsaw Garrison Command (101 people), the Cyberspace defence Army office (6 people) and the office of the Military Gendarmerie (6).
The next year's slot pool will be precisely twice as large as this year. The decision of the MON last year assumed that 80 candidates for private vocational training would be accepted in 2 institutions – in Zegrz and Kraków.
