On Friday, there was a massive detonation in a flat block in Bucharest, territory 5. As a consequence of the explosion, a large part of the building wall collapsed, and firefighters from the Inspectorate for Extraordinary Situations Bucharest-Ilfov launched a red plan.
As a consequence of the explosion, 3 residents of the block were killed and 15 were injured. Among the fatalities is simply a pregnant woman. The origin of the detonation could be the accumulation of gases. Residents of a building located in Rahova territory complain that they have repeatedly reported a persistent gas odor to 112. Yesterday, 1 of the residents described on Facebook how the people in the block desperately tried to solve the problem. The female accused the authorities of shifting responsibility.
Special Telecommunications Service confirms that at least 1 call to 112 reported a sharp gas smell.
Firemen and gas distributor representatives arrived. The gas in the block was cut off and sealed on Thursday. However, on Friday individual broke the seal, according to the National Energy Regulatory Office (ANRE). I want the D.A. to explain who's responsible.
The blast besides caused crucial harm to neighbouring buildings, including close advanced school: respective students were injured. The blast ripped out windows in respective classrooms, and respective students suffered insignificant injuries. There were about 800 children at school.
Raed Arafat, head of the Emergency Situations Department, claims the building is in danger of collapse.
The Ministry of Health, Alexandr Rogobete, claims that 3 victims have severe burns that cannot be treated in Romania, and have so been transported to hospitals abroad.
