The enemy occupies the advanced floors of the building. There's an intense exchange of fire, and there's explosions. Inside there is darkness, there is simply quite a few smoke, but on the lower floors there are injured people who request to be helped. Soldiers of the 22nd Mountain Infantry Battalion from Kłodzka underwent exercises in the medical field of Combat Livesaver combat. Classes took place, among others, during black tactics.

– The battlefield rescuer works in utmost conditions. frequently under enemy fire, sound and smoke, there is stress and intense force of time. We are trying to guarantee that our exercises are as faithful as possible to the real conditions of the battlefield,” says young man Filip Pokorski of the 7th Air Division, 25th Air Cavalry Brigade. The rooms where the soldiers were to enter to aid the wounded and then evacuate them were darkened and smoky. The sound of explosions came out of the speakers, the flares were fired and pyrotechnics were used. So in Kłodzko he trained 22nd Mountain Infantry Battalion subject to 25 BKPow.

RECLAMA

– We practice CLS elements (Combat Livesaver – ed.) in trenches, open grounds and buildings – explains the Ensign. He adds that the specificity of activities in buildings differs importantly from that outside. It's tighter, the soldiers request to realize the layout of the rooms, it's frequently dark, they work with flashlights, there's quite a few smoke, and there's quite a few sound from the explosion. “The trainees are to supply basic assistance to the injured, to safe them and then carry them outside on a stretcher,” says Ensign Pokorski. Soldiers do not execute individual activities on time, but for the full task, i.e. from the entrance to the building or to the area where the victims are located, for their safe evacuation they have between 20 and 30 minutes (depending on the exercise scenario).

In providing assistance, the military operates according to the so-called. MARCHE Protocols. It sets out the order of actions to be taken by rescuers. MARCHE is an acronym under which there is simply a pattern of rescue procedures in tactical medicine and rescue in the danger zone. M means massive bleedings, and so the request to control the heaviest hemorrhages utilizing tactical stasis (tension band) or haemostatic dressings. A – airway – in this case you gotta bypass the airway, check if the injured individual is conscious, safe his cervical spine. R is simply a respiratory distress – chest trauma test, detection of the active pneumo. C – circulation – requires heart rate check, cardiovascular monitoring. H – from the word hypothermia/head is to prevent heat loss, test head injuries and defend against further injuries. Finally, E – everything else, i.e. everything else, including securing smaller wounds, preparing for evacuation.

38 soldiers took part in the training in the Kłodz battalion. This kind of training is held in the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade twice a month. This is possible due to the fact that there are respective CLS instructors trained in this direction. Already in April, soldiers from the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade will execute akin exercises, but already in trenches, they will carry out in the 7th Air Division in Nowy Glinnik close Tomaszów Mazowiecki.
