The National safety Council is kind of a political "stand-general" but for the full state, not just for the army. It's the president's advisory body. This means that he does not make formal decisions, does not vote the laws, does not give orders. His strength lies in something else: there are people in 1 area who frequently sit in the Sejm all day, and here they must talk about threats that do not look at organization colors.
According to the law and political practice, the RCN consists of, among others, Speakers of the Sejm and the Senate, Prime Minister, key ministers liable for defence, abroad and interior affairs, heads of the main services, as well as representatives of clubs and parliamentary circles. It's a mix of politicians, uniforms and analysts who connect 1 thing: they're expected to give the president a full image of the situation.
In an perfect world, the Council is simply a place where organization wars are suspended for a fewer hours and tries to answer simple but brutal questions: who attacks us, how, where we have gaps and what needs to be done immediately and what next period to fill these gaps.
SAFE, Trump and the Wizards hit the wallpaper
The first of the main points is to be the situation around the EU SAFE programme – a peculiar debt line linked to the Union's energy and defence security. Poland is seeking access to these measures, which in practice can become 1 of the pillars of financing the modernisation of the army and investments in energy in the coming years.
The information that has emerged in fresh days shows that Warsaw is counting on both favourable repayment terms and as much flexibility as possible in spending money – so that it can be directed at, for example, infrastructure military projects, ammunition warehouses or the modernisation of energy networks applicable for defence.
