KOLKATA- A Qatar Airways (QR) flight bound for Kathmandu carrying Nepal Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba was diverted to Kolkata (CCU) on Friday (February 28, 2025) due to adverse weather conditions at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM).

Deuba, 63, was returning from Geneva where she had attended a United Nations meeting. The flight from Doha was unable to land in Kathmandu as visibility decreased significantly following light rain in the Kathmandu Valley Friday morning.

Airport sources confirmed the diversion was necessary due to deteriorating weather conditions caused by a western low-pressure system affecting the region.
