This route marks a key expansion for Qantas in the Northern Territory, connecting Darwin (DRW) to Singapore (SIN) in under five hours.

Qantas New Flights From Darwin to Singapore

Qantas’ new Darwin-Singapore service operates four times weekly, that is on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 12 Business and 162 Economy seats.

Key flight details include:

  • Schedule: Four weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday)
  • Flight Numbers: QF113 (DRW-SIN) and QF114 (SIN-DRW)
  • Duration: 4 hours 50 minutes
  • Aircraft: Boeing 737-800 (12 Business, 162 Economy seats)
  • Lounge Access: Qantas Club (Darwin) and Qantas International First/Business Lounge (Singapore)

Departing Darwin at 14:55 and arriving in Singapore at 18:15, flight QF113 takes 4 hours and 50 minutes.

The return, QF114, leaves Singapore at 19:20 and lands in Darwin at 01:40 the next day. This schedule aligns with Qantas’ A380 flights from Singapore to London, providing Territorians the fastest route to Europe via a single stop.

For international tourists, the direct flight eliminates the need to transit through other Australian cities, cutting travel time to the Territory significantly.

The launch coincides with a sale featuring return Economy fares from $519, available until 11:59 PM on April 2, 2025.

These fares include checked baggage, meals, drinks, and entertainment. Qantas Frequent Flyers can redeem Classic or Classic Plus seats using points, while eligible travelers access the Qantas Club in Darwin and premium lounges at Singapore’s Changi Airport.

CEO International Cam Wallace highlights the route’s role in offering seamless travel to Asia and Europe, boosting tourism, and fostering trade between Australia and Singapore.

Historical Context of the Route

Qantas’ Darwin-Singapore connection traces back to May 1935, when Darwin served as the last Australian stop on the original Kangaroo Route to London. That leg required five stops and four-and-a-half days.

By 1979, QF1 stopped weekly in Darwin using a Boeing 732. The last direct flight operated in June 2006, making this 2025 relaunch a significant revival.

Today’s service, with modern Boeing 737-800s, reflects Qantas’ long-term commitment to the Territory, now delivering efficiency and comfort unmatched in its early years.

With this launch, Qantas is reinforcing Darwin’s role as a vital link in its global network, ensuring greater access to international markets and travel destinations.
