Poland reported that on Wednesday morning it picked up fighters and shot down Russian drones. This appears to be an escalation of Russia's president Vladimir Putin's efforts to test NATO's defence. The head of EU diplomacy stated that the intrusion of drones seemed intentional, and NATO reports that it is conducting a 'close' consultation with Poland.
