Russian leader Vladimir Putin said on Friday that the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski asked him to meet, but he “sees no reason to meet him” and does not know why Kiev does not want president Donald Trump's administration to warrant peace talks.
Putin, who spoke at the yearly global economical Forum in Petersburg, stressed that the war with Ukraine would end “without a shadow of a doubt” only erstwhile Russia “achieved the goals it had set”.
Referring to the proposal for a gathering he made on Thursday in an open letter from Zelenski, he added that it is only crucial for the Ukrainian side, who wants to halt the advancement of the Russian armed forces.
