Restoring draft. Poles expressed their opinion, many will not like it

As much as half of the United Surveys survey participants for Virtual Poland decided that compulsory military service should be restored in Poland. This is, among others, the effect of Russian drones appearing over our country.


Participants of the survey were asked whether the mandatory military service should be reinstated in the current global situation in Poland.

50.5 percent of those polled are for this solution. 21 percent said "yes" and 29,5 percent said "yes." There are 40.6 percent of respondents against compulsory military service. The answer "absolutely not" indicated 12.4 percent of them, and "perhaps not" 28.2 percent.

"Nearly all tenth Pole (8.9%) has no opinion on this issue or "it's hard to say" - writes Virtual Poland. "The survey was carried out on 13-15 September 2025 by CATI&CAWI method on a typical example of 1000 respondents," he adds.

Russian drones alarmed Poles


In fresh days, concern about Russian actions has increased. Let us remind that on the night of 9th to 10th September, Polish airspace was repeatedly affected by drones during Russia's attack on Ukraine. General Chief of Staff General Wiesław Kukuła reported that a full of 21 drones had entered Poland. In turn respective days later, on Friday, 3 Russian fighters crossed Estonian airspace.

According to the head of the MFA Radosław Sikorski, Poland, NATO and the EU should treat the incidental as a "wake" to accelerate defence preparations. As he stated in his interview with "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung", the breach of the Polish space by specified a large number of drones cannot be a coincidence.

Let us add that in a fresh survey of SW investigation studio for Onetu, the respondents asked the question: "Do you support the thought of shooting down Russian drones and rockets by NATO over the territory of Ukraine before they scope the borders of Poland?".

59.3% of the surveyers supported this solution. 18.3% of respondents opposed this proposal. In turn, 22.3 percent of respondents had no opinion on this issue.
