I am not a supporter of the death penalty, especially in a situation where only members of a given nation are to be subject to it," said president of the global Policy Office Marcin Przycz today. Regarding the death penalty, the nationality criterion is unacceptable," he added.
On Monday, a law was passed in Israel laying down the death punishment for convicted Palestinians of terrorism from the West Bank. The law was condemned by human rights organisations and Palestinian leaders. The law requires the execution of the death punishment by hanging within 90 days of the court's conviction without the right to be pardoned, but besides allows for the anticipation of a life conviction alternatively of a death penalty.
The provisions apply only to Palestinians in the West Bank who, unlike judaic settlers, are subject to military courts administered by the business authorities.
Marcin Przypocz, asked about this on Wednesday on Zet radio, said that "he is not a supporter of the death punishment in specified a formula, especially in a situation where only members of a given nation or a given community are to be subject to it."
– I'm from a law school where they learned that Temida should keep her eyes closed and justice for actions, not looking at who she thinks. So if he judges a rich oligarch or a nobleman, he only sentences him to financial punishment, and like a peasant or a migrant, he sentences him to the punishment of flogging or death. Nope. Themida is to keep her eyes closed. The nationality criterion, in my opinion, is unacceptable," said the head of the president of the global Policy Office.
