Przemysław Czarnek to Sławomir Mentzen: “Are you crazy?”

Yesterday's recording of Sławomir Mentzen caused serious tensions between the 2 leading opposition groups.

The leader of the Confederation referred to the “Polish Declaration” presented by Jarosław Kaczyński, without changing the words. According to Mentzen, the paper was not an effort at an agreement, but a political attack on the Confederacy.

— It was no effort to agree with the Confederacy. This was an attack on the Confederate," Mentzen said. — The text of this declaration was highly anti-Confederal. Its intent was to present us as abnormal and irresponsible, with whom we cannot cooperate.

The speech sparked an immediate reaction from Przemysław Czarnek. Law and Justice politician present posted an emotional entry on X (formerly Twitter), in which he harshly criticized the leader of the Confederation.

— Dear Mr @SlawomirMentzen, are you crazy? The borders of even the uncultural polemics have been crossed by you many times in this statement. possibly if you cool down, you will come to the conclusion that it is worth apologizing, even for human reasons – wrote the Vice president of the Law and Justice Office.

Czarnek besides announced that he no longer intends to participate in events organised by Mentzen, including the popular cycle “Beer with Mentzen”.

It was only late speculated that the PiS and the Confederacy could look for common points after the elections. However, the current conflict shows that so far there is no form of agreement. Mentzen explicitly rejects cooperation, and PiS, represented by Czarnek, does not intend to tolerate public questioning of its strategy.

At this minute Mentzen did not respond straight to Czarnek's call for an apology. However, all points to the fact that this dispute will not only last, but may be a announcement of an open war on voters on the right.
