The political leader of Hamas Ismail Hanija and his deputy Musa Abu Marzuk declared that they do not exclude discussion about the future of Israeli-Palestinian relations. Marzuk went on to give Israel recognition. He besides referred to the peace agreement with Oslo in 1993, which Hamas boycotted at the time.
