Chinese send ambassador to Afghanistan
Zhao Sheng became China's fresh ambassador to Afghanistan. China was so the first country to appoint an ambassador to Afghanistan after 15 August 2021 erstwhile the Taliban took control of the country.
Beijing claims (at least officially) that the appointment of a fresh ambassador does not mean designation of the Taliban regime.
So far, the Chinese embassy in Kabul has led the charge d’affaire. It is worth noting that the Chinese did not close their embassy after 15 August 2021, and Chinese delegations regularly visited "Taliban Afghanistan".
