Today in Lublin there was a protest of the mine miners “Bogdanek” who are afraid to destruct jobs due to a simplification in coal mining. According to estimates, 3,000 people participated. Manifesting miners offered a petition to Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the hands of the state of Lublin. "Deleting the state-of-the-art coal mine in Europe is more than a crime," said Janusz Kowalski, MP of PiS, on platform X.

Since 2009, LW Bogdanka has been a stock company, while the Enea Capital Group has about 65% of the company's capital. The Enea Group is composed of Enea Wycień and Enea Polaniec, which are the main recipients of Bogdanka coal. The preliminary financial results of the mine published in January this year show that the production of commercial coal in 2024 amounted to 7.9 million tonnes and sales to 8.1 million tonnes.
