The president proposed a referendum question: Are you in favour of a climate policy that has led to an increase in the cost of surviving of citizens, energy prices and economical and agricultural activities?”. The request for a referendum was rejected by most votes. The Senators argued that the question was formally flawed (they considered it a political thesis, not neutral inquiry). 95 senators took part in the vote. 48 votes of support were needed to adopt the draft referendum.
