The legislature tabled on Thursday amendments to the Act implementing the EU's set-up mechanics SAFE. The amendments ensure, among another things, that the loans from the programme will not be financed from the MON budget and introduce an anti-corruption and counter-intelligence control obligation. The bill with amendments supported 61 senators, against 26, no 1 abstained. Now the bill will return to the Sejm.

The legislature introduced together four amendments prepared by the government coalitiontwo of which were voted together. 1 of them predicts that the expenses related to the repayment and servicing of the SAFE debt will not be included in the minimum limit on defence expenditure. The budget of the State is to establish a reserve for this purpose.

Another amendment introduces an anti-corruption and counter-intelligence control work by ABW, SKW and CBA to usage the funds from the SAFE loan and reporting on the conduct of that control.
