Hobbit home shelter maker enters the European market

As a shelter maker with NATO certification, Hobbit home enters the European market.

The Export manager of Hobbit House, Julia Kondrashevska, points out that there is now a crucial increase in the interest of shelters in European countries, in peculiar Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Above all, it concerns the countries of Central and east Europe, where threats from the east are felt much more than in the west or south of Europe.

The company besides emphasizes the increasing interest in cooperation from Polish business.

We are planning to enter the Polish marketplace due to the fact that we see quite a few request from possible partners from Poland – both in terms of the production of shelters on the Polish marketplace and in terms of joint entry into another EU markets. The Polish economy shows fast growth against the background of another economies of the European Union, which is why investment in Poland is very prospective. In addition, specified cooperation can be carried out logistically with optimal routes and has large improvement potential, including the anticipation of expanding the marketplace section and creating fresh types of shelters for European customers, – Julia Kondrashevska shared plans.

According to her, The company builds shelters according to global standards, able to withstand a shock wave of up to 500 kPa, which importantly exceeds current standards (in Poland the requirements for specified facilities scope from 100 to 200 kPa). The shelters have walls and roofs made of peculiar reinforced concrete with a thickness of 300 mm.

The installation of 1 shelter takes up to 24 hours and requires no foundation. This allows you to rapidly safe businesses, schools, medical facilities and critical infrastructure. The tallness of the shelter starts with 2.54 m and more (depending on the model). Each shelter may consist of respective separate rooms – modules. Modules are designed to accommodate up to 5 people (depending on the needs and available space). Each shelter has at least 2 exits, including 1 adapted for persons with reduced mobility, and 1 area can accommodate about 50 people.

"We have experience in the production of shelters since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine. If, at first, only the requirements were to defend against the shrapnel of standard missiles, present we produce shelters that withstand the strikes of Shahed combat drones, bomb fragments, rockets, and many others. These are shelters tested in war conditions," quoted the manager of export press office of the company.

Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the company has increased its production scale respective times: in 2022 2 plants operated – in Kiev and Lviv, present it is six production plants.

"Our modular shelters are located in practically all regions of Ukraine – they are ordered by companies, local governments for the safety of hospitals and schools, stations, heating stations, shops and many another facilities. Of course, there are besides individual customers," emphasises the manager of Exports of Hobbit House.

Security Hobbit House undergoing polygon tests, and appropriate recordings are available on the company website. In 2024, Hobbit home received a SIC (System of global Certification) certificate that confirms the compatibility of design, production and improvement with NATO standards. Hobbit home is 1 of the leaders in the production of civilian defence shelters in Ukraine.
