The event echoed widely in the regular press and radio. The circumstantial process was called "the twenty-three process", "the Lublin PAS process", and "the theatre process", due to the fact that it was held in the building of the pre-war Malicka Theatre at Karowa Street in Warsaw. Much indicates that this was carefully staged by the authorities “bloody spectacle”. There was besides an informal name in the public space called the "Przechowiński Process" due to the attribution of blame to the accused for the crime on the Ukrainian population in Wierzchowin, 6 June 1945.
